Dark romantic makeupDark romantic
Plum eyes, wine lips, a velvet ribbon. My idea of a costume for the last night of October.
Dark romantic makeup is the best excuse Halloween gives you: no costume, no fake blood, just everything a few shades deeper than usual and slightly too glossy.
This is the version worth trying: smoky plum on the lids with a little gold catching the light, black-cherry cat-eye nails that move when you do, and a mouth lined dark and finished with something glossy, like you've been drinking red wine all night. Then a velvet ribbon tied at the throat, loose enough that it might come undone.
It works on the thirty-first, and on every dinner in November that deserves a bit of drama.
